This morning, one worker was injured after a gas line exploded in the L&L Furnace Company in 72s local. The commercial building response was dispatched. 72-9 (J. Lloyd) arrived on location and confirmed no fire. Crews from E72 and Tk63 investigated the scene that had already been secured by the uninjured employees. A faulty gas line regulator appeared to have caused this explosion. Medic 72 transported the injured worker. An hour later, Rescues 72 and 63, along with Medic 72 were dispatched to Pennell and Mount for an accident with injuries. Medic 72 transported one patient and there was no need for the FD. Later in the afternoon, the building response was dispatched to a house in 63s local. E63 investigated a faulty water heater and 63-9 (M. Evans) scaled back the assignment to 63 units.
WORKING HOUSE FIRE

At 3:00AM, the box assignment was dispatched to Valleybrook Apartments for a building fire. Truck 63 arrived with smoke showing and the source was quickly found to be a heater. The assignment was then recalled.
In the afternoon, the street assignment was dispatched to the area of North Manor Drive for dwelling fire. Deputy 63 (M. Evans) arrived and confirmed a single family house – working fire. Engine 72 (Captain Moletteri) arrived, dropped the 5-inch supply line into the scene and assumed first due engine company operations. Engine 63 took the plug and Truck 63 set up on side Alpha and took the first due truck company operations. Crews were backed out by Command as they were about to make their initial attack due rapidity deteriorating interior conditions. After a quick re-evaluation, fire crews then started an interior attack and ventilation was started. The fire was brought under control in about an hour and Company 72 remained on scene for about three hours. Companies 71, 61, 52, Medics 72-7, 100C, 100, Ambulance 40, RIT teams from 23 and NCC 13 were on the scene. M. Evans had command, B. Harris was interior, B. Herre had operations and J. Betzal had the safety sector. The fire is under investigation by the Township Fire Marshall and State Police. We would like to extend a special thank you to Bethel Fire Co. for covering our local and assisting with restoring our apparatus after the call.
In the evening, a passerby drove past a house on Richard Road and noticed sparks coming from the chimney and called 911. Company 63 arrived and confirmed there was no issue with the fireplace fire and the assignment was recalled. Medic 72 handled 4 other transports during the day.
